HANRIOT, Robin

Robin (Bettigole) Hanriot,61, died October 31, 2008 in Miami Beach after a brief illness. Wife of John Hanriot. She was the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Bettigole of East Williston. She was a distinguished equestrian on Long Island, having competed in local events and in the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden. Music was the major force in her life. After graduation from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, she pursued a career in opera in Europe and in the United States. Mrs. Hanriot was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, performing with the Opera company for over twenty years. See:Obituary

DICKEY, James Sanford

James Sanford Dickey, age 69, of Bear, Delaware died on Saturday June 4th, 2016. James, also known as "Sandy", was born in the Borough of Manhattan, New York. He was the son of the late James HayerDickey and Evelyn Sanford Dickey.

He received his early education in East Williston School District and graduated from The Wheatley School (High School) class of 1965 in New York. James graduated from New York State University College at Farmingdale and the University of Vermont with degrees in Engineering and Business.

In his professional career, he was a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer (Chief Engineer) for many years. James, also, served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Later in life, he worked for Federal Express as a facility engineer at the Newark Airport; for Texaco as the Port Engineer in Delaware City, DE; for Lanxide Corp. as their facility engineer in Newark, DE and as a tax agent with H&R Block.

He valued his family and filled our lives with good humor and cheer. He enjoyed his time doing cycling, playing cards, genealogy, preserving local history, boating, vegetable gardening, cutting grass, supporting Caesar Rodney District, Del-Mar-Va Council Boy Scouts of America, Seneca Lake Association, his church, family and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife Lynn Sitkowski Dickey of 46 years: his two sons and their wives Jason and Maria Dickey of Towson, MD and Justin and Allison Dickey of Alloway, NJ, his 3 grandchildren Jacob, Jeremiah and Cameron and two sisters, Alice Tarlach of Brick, NJ and Elizabeth Prince of Mays Landing, NJ.

Eisenberg, Ted '65

Theodore “Ted” Eisenberg, the Henry Allen Mark Professor of Law and adjunct professor of statistical sciences at Cornell, died of a heart attack Sunday, Feb. 23. He was 66. Ted graduated from Wheatley in 1965.

A praise-filled obituary of Ted in the Cornell Chronicle describes him as an active scholar with wide interests, a distinguished careeer, and a big family.
